General Physician’s P.C. Breast Care clinic provides surgical consultation and treatment of benign and malignant breast disease in a convenient, comfortable setting.  Our team of board certified health care professionals provides compassionate, well-rounded care for breast disease that is tailored to each patient.  We can coordinate same day appointments with breast imaging as well as medical and radiation oncology to help optimize your care and busy schedule.  In addition to top notch breast surgical care, we have access to patient education and assistance resources, wellness and survivorship services such as nutrition, physical therapy, psychology, breast prosthesis, wigs and several support groups just to name a few.

    • Profile: Andrea was co-founder of Breast Care of Western New York and worked in private practice along side her husband, Ronald L. Bauer, M.D. in the Buffalo area for almost 25 years. An opportunity to help build a new comprehensive university based breast program became available, and the decision was made to become part of this exciting new venture. 
      Happily married for almost 30 years, the Bauer’s reside in Getzville with their English bulldog, Gino. They have 2 adult children, Madison and Andrew.

      • Family Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Genetics Nurse
      • Surgical breast care: follow up of breast cancer and ongoing monitoring for those at high risk for breast cancer.
      Karen provides family history screening, genetic counseling and testing for Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer and Lynch Syndromes. In addition she provides post test counseling and ongoing follow up counseling as families and patients need.

      • Karen is also a Breast Cancer educator at Sisters of Charity Hospital since 2013. She has written a series of pre surgical education pamphlets that are provided to breast cancer patients at the pre-surgical evaluation appointment to help them prepare for the surgery and better anticipate their post operative restrictions and care needs from family members.
      • She is also a public speaker covering topics such as breast cancer early detection and screening as well as genetic screening for high risk individuals. She has presented at The Breast Cancer Network and Hadassah (a large Jewish women’s service organization), as well as presentations at several community organizations and church groups.

    • Profile: Dr. Meeghan Lautner joins General Physician, PC as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Lautner’s clinical practice focuses on the surgical management of both malignant and benign breast disease. This includes procedures such as lumpectomy, skin-sparing mastectomy, nipple-sparing mastectomy and assessment of axillary lymph nodes. Her research interests includes patient access to care for breast cancer and surgical outcomes.
