Maria Inés Agüero de Manunta, MS, RDN, CDCES, CDN, CHC

Maria has more than ten years experience providing nutrition counseling and therapy in English and Spanish, specializing in diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia, blood pressure management, gastrointestinal issues, heart disease, stroke, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and other nutrition-related issues. She has also served as a Clinical Instructor and Clinical Director for the University at Buffalo’s Clinical Nutrition Master of Science Program. MariaInésAgüero de Manunta is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, NYS Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, and Certified Health Coach. She holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from D’Youville University. Working with patients in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and not-for-profit healthcare organizations has allowed her to serve a highly diverse pool of patients, including those afflicted with AIDS, Hepatitis C and mental health issues, the elderly, children, and the Hispanic community, as well as other ethnically diverse populations. In addition to her clinical practice, she has participated in community events - trainings, media and public relations events, nutrition classes, and group discussions - allowing her to become more deeply involved with different organizations and communities within Western New York. Maria emphasizes patient satisfaction and believes in preventive nutrition. She annually attends international and domestic conferences, seminars, and symposiums to learn the latest in nutrition and best available evidence-based approaches to improve patient outcomes. Her goal which she is most passionate about is helping people learn about healthy eating so that they can make unique, positive lifestyle changes.
